EAT HERE OR DABAO? Design Sustainable Food Packaging In Cartoon Form!

How can we change the way we ‘dabao’ to be kinder to the earth? Inventor Ibnur Rashad will discuss the impact that food packaging has on our earth and together with cartoonist Colin Goh, young creators will use the cartoon form to design new and more eco-friendly packaging and ‘dabao’ habits. Participants will get to develop their visual communication skills, and learn about the impact of our everyday choices on the earth.

NYONYARELLA: Reinventing A Classic Fairy Tale In Comics!

What if Cinderella were Nyonya? Join Artist Colin Goh in this workshop where he takes young creators on a journey to learn about the rich culture of the Peranakans. Particpants will get to exercise their imagination, mashing customs and clothing with a story that all children know very well, Cinderella. Instead of a glass slipper, come find out what kind of slipper Nyonyarella will leave behind!

FOOD HAVE FEELINGS TOO?!

How does one draw different feelings? Join Artist Colin Goh in this workshop where he tells a story from his Dim Sum Warriors comic book, “There’s A Hole”, showing dim sum characters with a whole range of emotions. Young creators will learn how to draw different emotions in the body language and facial expressions of their favourite foods!

FOOD FOR LAUGHS: Creating a Delicious 4-Panel Comic With Food Characters

Thu 15 June from 2-3 pm (suitable for 7-12 years old)

How does one create a funny 4-panel comic? In this workshop, young creators will get to see how Artist Colin Goh creates a 4-panel comic using story elements such as set-up, punchline, panels, word and thought balloons and create one of their own. Participants will pick up a very useful storytelling structure which they may use in their own narrative and composition writing.
