We Created A Breakthrough Programme That Removes the Stress of Learning Chinese—Using Comics!

Learning a 2nd Language Like Chinese is Necessary

We’re parents just like you, who want our children to be bilingual—even multilingual—so that they can really access the opportunities of today’s globalized economy.

But Despite Classes, Kids Still Won't Speak

But parents keep telling us that despite a lot of lessons, many kids are too shy or afraid use the language to speak.

Kids Won't Even Read Books in the 2nd Language

And many kids won't pick up a book in the 2nd language outside of class.

How Can We Get Kids Interested in the Language?

Parents have told us that they’ve tried everything but they still can’t make their kids interested in the language.

WHY?!

Kids Are Overloaded

The usual way we get kids to learn Chinese is by making them go for after-school tuition. But kids nowadays are already overburdened with schoolwork, and even tutoring in other subjects! It's no wonder they're often like this during tuition classes:

Kids Associate Learning Chinese with Stress

No amount of logical persuasion, threats or bribes will work. Even if they're convinced, they'll still associate Chinese with tests, expectations and stress.

SO WE CREATED A FABULOUS SOLUTION!

We looked at what worked with our child's language-learning, and also at the relevant educational research, and came up with an innovative method that helps kids:

  • Improve BOTH Chinese AND English—at the same time!
  • Associate language learning with enjoyment
  • Pick up drawing skills—yes, really!
  • Inspire creativity!

Our programme is NOT about getting your kids to score highly in tests. It's a method of disrupting their associating learning with stress and fear, so they can adapt to be able to learn anything.

Highly recommended for Pre-K to Primary 4/4th grade kids who are learning Chinese or English!

WHAT TO EXPECT IN EACH SESSION:

A LOT of giggling!

All your kids need to have are pencils (or markers or colour pencils—whatever they like) and paper.

We'll start with a little reading (usually, but not always, from our Little Dim Sum Warriors bilingual comic books) and then the craziness begins!

Our artists will then take suggestions from the kids and make them come to life (well, on paper anyway)! And your kids should absolutely draw along!

In past sessions, we've created food characters with emotions, like a Silly Sandwich or Deranged Dragonfruit or Funny Fishball, and as we draw, our bilingual teachers will talk about what the words used might be in Chinese.

All the vocabulary gathered in the sessions are then organised into quizzes and activities on our website, so that kids can revise and play with what they've learned.

It's always a lot of fun, and we've even been told that the entire family joins in too!
