Hot Off the Press! New Lunar New Year Book from the Dim Sum Warriors!

In an exciting literary collaboration, three Singaporean storytellers, Woo Yen Yen 胡恩恩, Colin Goh 吴荣平 and Josef Lee 李文良 have teamed up to bring young readers a captivating Lunar New Year children’s book that promises to be a celebration of culture, tradition, and bilingualism!

THE WRITERS

Dr. Woo Yen Yen, an education expert, leads the MA Arts Pedagogy and Practice Programme at LASALLE | University of the Arts Singapore. Her co-creator is Colin Goh, a humorist known for his writing and cartoons. They have co-created works such as the award-winning feature film, Singapore Dreaming, the Dim Sum Warriors App and comic series, Talkingcock.com and the Coxford Singlish Dictionary.

ILLUSTRATOR AND BOOK DESIGNER

Josef Lee, the storyteller behind numerous beloved books such as “When A Wolf In Sheep’s Skin Meets A Sheep In Wolf’s Skin” and “Bear With Me” lends his illustrations and design talents to this book.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Yen Yen expresses, “We’ve long admired each other’s work, and teaming up with a creative partner as open and thoughtful as Josef to work on this book has introduced a fresh perspective and room for experimentation. This collaboration has enabled us to create a bilingual book with a unique bilingual layout and design never seen before.”

Yen Yen’s bilingual expertise, Colin’s adept wordcraft, and Lee’s thoughtful illustrations have collectively crafted a delightful book. It is ideal for families and schools aiming to empower children not only with a second language but also with an appreciation for cultural traditions.

The book is anticipated to ship on Feb 8th, in time for the Lunar New Year festivities.

Pre-order has started and is expected to sell out very soon.
